I am a Speech and Language Therapist who has experience of working with the following client groups within the NHS:

    • Autism Spectrum Disorder (age range 2 years – 21 years)
    • Developmental Language Disorder (2 years-16 years)
    • Language Disorder associated with Epilepsy.
    • Degenerative conditions including Duchene’s Muscular Dystrophy, Becker’s Muscular Dystrophy and mitrochrondial disease.
    • Genetic conditions including Crouzon syndrome and Down syndrome.
    • Language disorder following an acquired brain injury.
    • Dyspraxia and Dysarthria associated with physical disabilities including cerebral palsy.
    • Speech Sound Disorders (2 years -14 years).
    • Non-verbal young adults using AAC.

My areas of special interests are working with children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Language Disorder associated with additional medical needs.

I am constantly striving to develop my skills. I have completed post qualification training in Makaton, Shape Coding and Social Thinking.

I am currently working with primary-aged pupils with ASD in an Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) within a mainstream school and as well as in a special primary school which caters for children experiencing difficulties with Communication and Interaction.

My greatest passion is ensuring that a child or young person reaches their full potential with their speech, language and communication. I strongly believe that working collaboratively with parents, school staff and all other professionals is key to ensuring a child’s or young person’s progress.
