KIRSTY CHAPMAN
BSc; PG Dip (Speech and Language Therapy)
Member of HCPC, RCSLT and ASLTIP.
I have worked in the NHS for 16 years and truly enjoy working collaboratively with school staff and other professionals on behalf of children and their families.
Throughout my career, I have worked with both Early Years and School Aged children (aged from 12 months – 15 years, and have a special interest in supporting children with a Hearing Impairment. Working in this area has allowed me to acquire specialist skills whilst developing interests in co-existing conditions such as Developmental Language Disorder and Autism. I have worked within family homes, nurseries, schools and specialist settings and have insight into the expectations and demands of the different environments.
I am passionate about learning and endeavour to keep up to date with research and new approaches. I have attended courses in British Sign Language, Working with Deaf People and Children, The Hanen Program, Parent Child Interaction, Social Thinking and Shape Coding but what I enjoy most is working closely with parents and teaching staff, enskilling them so that children are able to achieve their potential.
